Common problems

The errors people run into most, what they mean, and how to fix them.

Most problems come from three things: a missing dependency, the wrong start order in server.cfg, or a license key from the wrong account. Find your error below.

#You lack the required entitlement

The console says something like You lack the required entitlement to use l3th-minerjob.

What it means: your server's license key belongs to a different Cfx.re account than the one that owns the script.

Fix:

  1. Check which account the script is in: open Granted Assets and look for it.
  2. Make sure the sv_licenseKey in your server.cfg is a key from that same account.
  3. Restart the server.

#Failed to verify protected resource

You see Failed to verify protected resource or syntax error near '<\1>' when the script starts.

What it means: the protected files were damaged on the way to your server, or your server version is too old to read them.

Fix:

  1. Download the script again from Granted Assets.
  2. Upload it again. With FTP, switch to binary transfer mode (ASCII mode damages the files). Your host's file manager or SFTP is fine too.
  3. Update your server to a recent recommended build (artifacts).

#Couldn't find resource

The console says Couldn't find resource l3th-..., or the script simply never starts.

What it means: the server can't find a folder with that name.

Fix:

  • The folder name has to match the ensure line exactly.
  • Open the folder: fxmanifest.lua must be directly inside. Unzipping sometimes makes a folder inside a folder (l3th-minerjob/l3th-minerjob). Move the inner one up.
  • The folder must be inside your resources folder, not next to it.

#ox_lib errors

Errors that mention ox_lib, like No such export ... in resource ox_lib or @ox_lib/init.lua not found.

Fix:

  • ensure ox_lib must come before the L3TH script in server.cfg.
  • Update ox_lib to the latest release.
  • Menus or progress bars don't show? You probably have the source code version of ox_lib. Download the release zip instead. See Installing a script.

#Items don't work or have no image

Fix:

  • Every item the script uses has to be in your inventory's items list. Your script's page lists them.
  • The image file name must match the item's image (for example l3th_rock.png), and sit in your inventory's image folder.
  • Restart the server after adding items. Most inventories only read their items list when they start.

#Nothing happens when I use the target

Fix:

  • Check the script's config: the target setting (interaction or target, depending on the script) must match the target resource you run, like ox for ox_target.
  • Your target resource must start before the L3TH script.
  • Set debug = true in the config to see the zones in game, then set it back to false.
